Birmingham, AL - In the second meeting between these two this season, it was again a one-run game as it was Birmingham-Southern who edged out Piedmont Tuesday night 2-1. The Panthers scored the go-ahead run on an error in the sixth while Piedmont was able to pick up a run in the eighth but could not complete the comeback.

It was a quiet game until the fourth when the Panthers put up their first run of the game scoring one run on four hits but left the bases loaded. Piedmont starter MAX BENING allowed the run but also worked his way out of the bases-loaded jam.

Bening was replaced by MATT VONDERSCHMIDT to start the fifth and it was not until the sixth when the Panthers saw a lead-off double then an error later in the frame allowing an unearned run to score and increase the lead to 2-0.

Piedmont got a run back in the eighth with a single by BRADY BALLSTADT scoring CHRIS WHITE but Piedmont only managed three hits in the game with the Panthers using a total of six pitchers in the contest with no pitcher tossing more than two innings.
