STORYLINES
-The Lions are riding a five-match win streak.
-Piedmont won in its last outing 6-3 over Huntingdon as the two are set for a rematch Friday
-Huntingdon's loss to PC on April 10 snapped a three-match win streak for the Hawks.

THE COACHES
Charlie Osten is in his second season leading the Huntingdon Hawks on the courts having led the team to a 9-5 overall record including a 6-4 mark in USA South action.  Osten took over the program just last season after the passing of Hall of Fame Coach Charlie Lane.  In his first season, Osten led the team to a 12-6 record with a 7-2 mark in USA South play.

Now in his 13th season at Piedmont, Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach Shane Wood has made his mark as one of the most successful coaches on staff at PC and throughout the world of collegiate tennis in the Southeast. Wood has ten conference titles to his name as well as a NCAA National Tournament appearance to go with a bevy of individual student-athlete accolades he has seen in his time leading the Green and Gold. Wood's 300th career win came in 2014 on the final day of the regular season as his men's and women's teams both swept visiting Greensboro College at Burgen Tennis Courts.

SCOUTING HUNTINGDON
The Hawks are 9-5 this season and 6-4 in USA South play behind a lineup that had one all-conference member. John Jones finished the regular season with a 4-8 record at No. 1 singles and teamed with Trey Pirtle at No. 1 doubles for an 8-6 record. The Hawks have won three of their last four after Piedmont ended their win streak in a 6-3 decision.

SERIES RECORDS
Though the Hawks lead the series since 2008 with an 11-4 mark, the tide turned with the return of Head Coach Shane Wood back in 2011 as four of Piedmont's wins have come in the last seven matches between these teams. Piedmont has won three of the last five including the last match between the two. These two are meeting up for a rematch of the last match they both played in the regular season which Piedmont won 6-3.

METZGER SQUARED
The Metzger brothers from New Zealand have been dominant in doubles play this season with the pair posting an 11-5 mark in 2016 and won their last three doubles matches of the regular season. MATTHEW METZGER finished the year with a five-match win streak in singles play at the #2 position and an overall 12-4 record in singles play in 2016. NATHAN METZGER was 9-7 at the #1 position in singles play including a 7-3 mark in conference play.

NATHAN METZGER earned second team all-conference honors last season moving up to the first team listing this season while MATTHEW METZGER was an all-conference honorable mention last year and earned second team honors in 2016.

LAST TIME OUT: WIN V. HUNTINGDON 6-3
The Piedmont College men's tennis team took care of business earlier Sunday knocking off USA South foe Huntingdon College 6-3 at Burgen Tennis Courts on Senior Day.

With MATTHEW METZGER honored prior to the match, the veteran paired with brother Nathan to win at #1 doubles but it was the only win of doubles play for the Lions who trailed 2-1 heading into singles.

However, there was a fire lit under the Lions as the top three singles decisions went the way of the home team putting the team just one point away from clinching.

Robbier Werner then clinched it with a straight sets win at #5 to hand Piedmont the win, the 10th of the season for PC.

NEXT UP FOR PIEDMONT
The winner of this match will advance to face #2 Methodist University Saturday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m.
