Raleigh, NC - In a rematch of the last two USA South Championship Games, the Piedmont College women's lacrosse team fell earlier Sunday afternoon 15-12 to Meredith College on the road in USA South play.

The Lady Lions held the lead by one after the first half, but the Avenging Angels rattled off seven straight to begin the second half distancing themselves from the visitors in conference play.

Piedmont was led by ALEXIS NARDUCCI in the scoring department with her four goals on five shots while Meredith saw Carlee Joseph led the way with five scores.

It was Narducci's goal in a man-up situation just before halftime that handed Piedmont the lead 8-7 as PC was in front throughout much of the first half courtesy of a three-goal run that broke a 2-2 deadlock just ten minutes in.

However, Meredith's Joseph scored three of her five in the seven goal streak that started the second half for the home team spelling trouble for Piedmont who trailed 14-8 after the hot second half start from MC.  The 15-12 win for Meredith is the first in the series between these two conference rivals in the regular season though the loser of this contest has gone on to win the last two USA South Tournament titles.

Turning Point
--With Piedmont up 8-7 at the halftime break, Meredith came out on fire in the second half scoring the first seven goals of the period to own a six-goal lead with just over a dozen minutes to play.

Standout Performances
--ALEXIS NARDUCCI had four goals on five shots in the loss, her fifth game this season with three or more goals.
--LOGAN RUCK earned three assists on the afternoon for Piedmont after coming into the day with just two assists all season.
