The Lions continued to fight till the end after overcoming a four run deficit to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth inning and plating a run in the bottom of the 11th.Â
The scoring started early as both teams put up two runs in the first inning while the Lions continued where they left off with a pair of runs in the second inning again. Those two runs came off freshman

With a 4-2 lead, both teams again scored a run each in the fourth inning but the Scots began the pour on the runs with a total of seven runs from the fourth until the eighth. The Lions tacked on a run in the sixth inning but trailed 10-6 heading into the bottom of the eighth.
Piedmont rallied with two outs to score four runs as

JAKE BROWNING singled and advanced to second on the throw scoring the tying runs making it 10 all.
Neither team scored in the ninth inning sending it to extras and it was the same story in the tenth. In the eleventh, however, the Scots scored four runs on three hits and two errors to take a 14-10 lead. The Lions managed one in the bottom of the frame but could not manage another four run comeback.Â
Turning Point--An RBI single in the top of the 11th by the Scots put them ahead 11-10, and a four run inning sealed the victory for the Scots.
Standout Performances--
BRADY BALLSTADT not only hit his first home run of his collegiate career but made a diving grab in center field worthy of SportsCenter's Top 10 plays.

JAKE BROWNING entered the game in the seventh inning and went 2-for-2 in the game with a pair of RBI as his single in the eighth scored the game tying runs.Â
Inside the Box Score--The Lions had six players post two hits in the contest.
News & Notes--The two teams combined for 37 hits in the contest as the Scots had 23 while Piedmont recorded 14.Up NextThe Lions will be on the road for a neutral site contest against Rhodes College on Tuesday, March 1 in Birmingham, Alabama at Birmingham-Southern College.Â
