Biography

As a Senior (2016): Played in all 40 contests posting 39 starts… Accounted for 36 hits, 24 RBI, and 21 runs scored on the year… Recorded 5 doubles and 2 stolen bases… Posted 6 multi-hit games on the season.

As a Junior (2015):  Started in 30 games for the Green & Gold…Had a batting average of .330…Tallied 37 hits and 18 runs for the Lions…Posted a 17-game hit streak…Contributed 24 RBI…Among everyday starters struck out a season-low nine times in 112 at bats…Posted 10 multi-hit games including four three-hit games…Was named honorable mention for the USA South Conference.

As a Sophomore (2014): Started all 39 contests for the Lions…3rd on the team in overall batting average (.308)…2nd on the team in total hits with 44…Posted 3 doubles and 3 triples on the season…2nd on the team in runs scored with 27…Went 3-4 with a double, triple, and an RBI against N.C. Wesleyan (3/30)…USA South Academic All-Conference Selection.

As a Freshman (2013): Posted 39 starts in 41 appearances…Opened the season on a six game hitting streak…Posted a season-high of three hits against LaGrange (3/30)…Batted .288 on the year…Plated 18 runs and recorded six doubles.

Prep & Personal: Born December 22nd, 1993 to parents Eric and Dana Barnes…Dacula, Georgia native…2012 graduate of Dacula High School…Has one brother, Evan…Majoring in Business at Piedmont…Was a Scholar Athlete in high school…Prepped under high school Coach John Poitevint…Spent his club days with Team Elite...Hit .378 as a senior and .321 as a junior in high school…Named to the Gwinnett County Senior All-Star Team and was named 2nd Team All-Region his senior year…All-County Academic Team in senior season as well…All-County Honorable Mention senior year…Earned the underclassman leadership award on his high school team his junior season, an award voted on by the team’s seniors…Led 2011 team to second round of the 8AAAAA state playoffs.
