Palmetto, GA - The Piedmont College cycling teams competed in their first cyclocross event of the 2016-17 schedule riding in the Serenbe CX presented by Peachtree Bikes over the weekend.
The event was the first for new rider
CONLEY WILHELM who recently completed his season with the Piedmont cross country team helping the Lions to the second of back-to-back USA South Championships.
Complete results were not yet available to see where Wilhelm placed in his first event, but it was the familiar face of
DYLAN CANTRELL who led the men's side with his 1-2 showing with fellow teammate
ANDREW GUELZO in the men's cat 4.
Cantrell also placed 6th in the men's A race while Guelzo was 10th in the same event.
On the women's side,
JESSICA PRINNER and
ERICA ALLAR finished 3rd and 4th respectively in the women's cat 1,2,3 while Allar went on to place 2nd in the women's A race with Prinner placing 6th.

ERICA ALLAR both posted finishes in the top four in the women's cat 1,2,3.
News & Notes
--This event marked the beginning of Piedmont's cyclocross portion of the 2016-17 schedule with two more such events on the slate including USA Cycling Collegiate Cyclocross Nationals.
