Sewanee, TN - The Piedmont College men's tennis team fell 9-0 earlier this afternoon to hosting Sewanee as the Tigers did not allow the Lions to take a single matchup winning all six singles decisions in straight sets.
PC falls to 0-1 to start the spring season in 2015 while Sewanee is now 1-0. The Lions will turn around quickly to play Centre College Saturday morning with Sewanee serving as the host site for the Valentine's Day match.
The Lions saw youngster
BRENT JENKINS pick up three games in the opening set of his loss at #3 singles, but could only pick up multiple games in only one other singles slot. In doubles action, Piedmont came the closest to taking a match at the #3 slot with the pairing of
ROBBIE WERNER and
TREY MARTIN falling 8-4 to the team of Gallimore and Owen from Sewanee.
Piedmont's match with Centre on Saturday will wrap up the two-match road trip for the Lions to start the 2015 season.
