Demorest, GA - Facing a potent attack on Friday evening at Walker Athletic Complex, the Lions of Piedmont College were unable to hold off Methodist University falling 1-0 in USA South men's soccer action.

The Lions held Methodist scoreless through the first half despite 10 shots total as the Monarchs were only able to put two of those on target.  Coming off a 7-1 win over William Peace, the Monarchs looked frustrated by the Piedmont defense which held up until nearly 75 minutes had passed in Demorest.

Piedmont fell behind when Methodist's Dylan Thomas scored on a free kick from the right side of the penalty box in the 74th minute giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.

The Lions mounted a few late chances, but could not equalize as the Monarchs were able to get out of Demorest with the crucial 3 points in conference play.
