Location: Demorest, Georgia - Cave Arena

Demorest, GA - The Piedmont College volleyball team challenged the USA South preseason favorite Maryville College falling in four sets 3-1 inside Cave Arena. The Lady Lions took the second set and looked impressive to start the third set but the Scots walked away victorious as Maryville Head Coach Kandis Schram won her 700th career game.

The Scots took the first set 25-22 in what was a tight contest thoughout before Piedmont evened the match 1-1 earning the second set 25-23. The Scots went on to win the final two sets by a score of 25-22 and 25-12.

Senior TAYLOR CRAMSEY had a record setting performance with 19 kills to mark a record number of kills in a four-set match. Cramsey was getting it done across the board as she also tallied four blocks while KATELYN DURMIRE added four blocks as well.

MALLORY LEARY, the second of Piedmont's pair of seniors honored prior to the match, had an impressive day as well tallying six kills and three digs. EMILY PETERS served as the setter earning 35 assists in the contest along with 10 digs while libero HALEY HIXON led the team with 15 digs.
