The Tigers used a score in each half to pick up the win, their second in their last three contests to go with a 4-0 win at Berea a week ago today. The loss for Piedmont is the first in regulation since September 19 when the Lions dropped a 5-2 decision to North Carolina Wesleyan College.
Scoring for Sewanee was Ramsey Seagle and Luke Deimer with Seagle picking up his in the first half on a deflected save while Deimer earned his on a header off a service from Ryan MacDonald in the opening 20 minutes of the second half to seal the 2-0 win for the Tigers.
Turning Point--Sewanee's second score which came in the opening minutes of the second half that sealed the two-goal win for the visitors.Standout Performances--Luke Deimer of Sewanee led all players along with teammate Kyle Johnston with his three shots including a goal on a header in the second half, his first of the 2015 season.Inside the Box Score--Piedmont was outshot 15-6 in the contest with Sewanee putting six of those on frame in the 90 minute contest.
--Only one Lion had more than one shot in the contest with Piedmont's CHRIS BIBLE accounting for two.
--MATTHEW METZGER had PC's only shot on frame in the contest.News & Notes--Today's contest was a non-conference one for the Lions who moved to 3-5-3 overall as PC is 1-3-2 in six games outside of the USA South portion of the schedule.
--Piedmont has been outscored in the first half of games ten to six this season.Up NextThe Lions jump back into conference play with Methodist University coming to Demorest on Friday, October 9.
