Demorest, GA - ln the final USA South regular season match of the season, the Lady Lions went out with a bang sweeping Maryville College on the road 3-0 for their first victory over the Scots since 2010. 

The Lady Lions took the first set 25-23 before taking control of the match in the second set 25-17. The final set was again a close call but the Lady Lions won 25-23 to seal the upset, in what Head Coach Sid Feldman termed "the upset of the last eight years" marking the timespan these two teams have been in the same league (GSAC & USA South).

TAYLOR CRAMSEY ended the conference schedule with a .241 attack percentage and 11 kills while also adding 9 digs. AMANDA TROTTER had an impressive attack percentage as well leading the team with a .286 with 7 kills.

EMILY PETERS had 27 assists along with 9 digs, nearly notching another double-double for the freshman while HALEY HIXON led the team with 14 digs.

The Lady Lions finished the USA South regular season at 9-7 in league play with a 4-4 record against USA South South Division opponents.

Turning Point
-The Lady Lions went on a 9-3 run to finish the second set and take control of the match.

Standout Performances
-This marked the second victory for the Lady Lions over the Scots in the last six seasons with that win coming in 2010.

Inside the Box Score
-Piedmont had just two team blocks after posting some impressive numbers, something Head Coach Sid Feldman noted his team needed to improve heading into the conference tournament.
-TAYLOR CRAMSEY nearly posted a double-double in the final regular season conference match of the season with 11 kills and 9 digs.

News & Notes
-The Lady Lions entered Wednesday's match with a 1-12 record in its last 13 meetings against Maryville with the lone victory coming in 2010 in the GSAC tournament on their way to a title.

The Lady Lions finish the regular season this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia taking on Fisk University and Oglethorpe University at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.
