Decatur, GA - After dropping a pair of contests, Piedmont rallied with a strong 3-0 performance against Agnes Scott College on Thursday night. The Lady Lions moved their record to 14-10 overall against the Scotties who fall to 6-11 in 2015.

Piedmont took the first set by the largest margin at 25-17 before a closer contest in the second set winning 25-20. In the third set, Agnes Scott led by four points early on but the Lady Lions charged back scoring eight unanswered to take control of the set and take the match. 

MALLORY LEARY had an outstanding performance at the net notching 10 kills on 15 total attacks with no errors for a .667 attack percentage, tying her season-best set against Brewton-Parker early in the season. EMILY PETERS recorded 24 assists while HALEY HIXON led the team in digs with 12 total. 

Turning Point
-The Lady Lions outhit the Scotties in each set dominating overall .200 to the Scotties .077 attack percentage in the match.

Standout Performances
-KAITLYN LOESEL came close to a double-double performance as she accounted for eight digs and seven kills.

Inside the Box Score
-Of the 12 players who saw the court for Piedmont, only two did not record a kill.
-Piedmont has posted two of its lowest block performances in the last two matches (1.0 total blocks).

News & Notes
-The Scotties will be a member of the USA South next season, expanding the field in the conference women's sports.

The Lady Lions host a USA South tri-match on Saturday, October 17 with Ferrum and Averett traveling to Cave Arena. Piedmont will face Ferrum at noon with the neutral site match at 2 and then take on Averett at 4.
