Montgomery, AL - In a close South division battle, the Lady Lions came up short against Huntingdon College falling in straight sets 3-0 to the Hawks. Piedmont kept it close in each set losing by no more than six points in any set, but ultimately could not take a set.

Huntingdon took the first set by the most convincing score 25-19 but Piedmont stormed back nearly taking the second set 25-23 before dropping the final set 25-20. In the second set, the Lady Lions trailed 22-16 but reeled off six straight to even the score, however they could not manage another point on their own as the final point for Piedmont came on a Hawks service error.

Piedmont was out-hit by Huntingdon .228 to .159 as the Hawks had a pair of players with 15 or more kills. Piedmont's leader in kills was TAYLOR CRAMSEY whose 8 kills give her 200 for the season. EMILY PETERS earned all but one assist with 27 in the match while three Piedmont players earned 10 or more digs led by HALEY HIXON with 15.

Turning Point
-The Lady Lions scored six in a row to even the score at 22 all in the second set but could not manage another point on their own falling 25-23 in the second set.

Standout Performances
-Cramsey earned eight kills to put her at exactly 200 for the 2015 season.

Inside the Box Score
-The Lady Lions had three players with 10 or more digs as Hixon earned 15, KAITLYN LOESEL had 12 and Peters earned 10.
-Peters 10 digs gives her a double double in the match with 27 assists as well.

News & Notes
-The win was the first for the Hawks in conference play this season.

Up Next
The Lady Lions travel to Agnes Scott College on Thursday for an out of conference match, though soon that will become a USA South competition as the Scotties are joining the league. Piedmont will take on Agnes Scott Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
