Fayetteville, NC - The Piedmont College men's tennis team fell earlier today 9-0 on the road to USA South member Methodist University as the Lions struggled against the Monarchs on the courts.  The hosting Monarchs took all nine decisions in straight sets as PC suffered its first loss since a season opening defeat at Sewanee-The University of the South on February 15th.

Piedmont is now 0-2 in a pair of road contests this season after having gone 2-0 in its last two matches which both came in the friendly confines of Burgen Tennis Courts.

With the loss, Piedmont falls to an even 2-2 after winning their last two matches, including a conference win over Ferrum College just last weekend.  The Lions had taken those last two wins without dropping a single decision winning 9-0 over the Panthers on February 28th and 9-0 over visiting Johnson University on February 17th.

With a few days off, Piedmont will play perhaps its most exciting stretch of the 2014 season as they face a rare doubleheader this Wednesday taking on LaGrange College at the home of the Panthers in Georgia after facing long-time conference rival Huntingdon College earlier that morning at the same site.  The matchup with the Hawks will start at 10:00 am and features the two teams who combined to win 11 of the 12 Great South Athletic Conference titles during the two's previous conference affiliation.
