Demorest, GA - The Piedmont College basketball programs are wrapping up the home portion of their 2013-14 schedules and that means the promotional calendar for the winter is also coming to a close with a bang tonight.  This evening will be Faculty Appreciation Night as the teams have invited those who educate them in the classroom to come see their knowledge on the court as well as PC will host Covenant College. 

All staff and faculty are invited to attend tonight's basketball doubleheader and watch the two squads in their home finales.  The Lady Lions wrapped up a spot in the USA South Championship Tournament at the year's end and can clinch the #2 seed in the South Division with a win tonight over the Scots.  PC rolled Covenant in their last matchup by 29 points, but the Scots handed tourney hopeful Huntingdon a loss last night, so the Lady Lions are preparing for a battle as they try for a third straight win this week.

The men's basketball team saw their hopes for a spot in the year-end tourney come to an end last night with a loss to Maryville, but the young squad has a lot still to play for as the Scots come to Demorest with revenge on the mind.  Piedmont handed the Scots a 78-70 loss last Monday night in their home gym, and the Lions will have to battle tonight to avoid Covenant returning the favor with an upset in Cave Arena. 

The Cave Crazies are also asked to come back and help the two teams finish on the right note at home.  Also making an appearance at halftime of the men's game will be the famed Cavaliers who made their debut a few weeks ago in the Cave, and are churning up excitement with a return to the Lions' den tonight. 

Action starts with the women tipping off at 5:30 pm while the men will follow at 7:30 pm or 25 minutes following the conclusion of the women's game.  Live coverage will be provided courtesy of the Mane Event Broadcasting Network and WCON radio with a special appearance by former SID Richard Dombrowsky on the call along with play-by-play man Michael Harvey, News Director at WCON.
