Box Score Demorest, GA – The Piedmont College volleyball team won their eighth straight match earlier tonight in dominating fashion over in-state foe Agnes Scott College 3-0. The Lady Lions held the Scotties to just 14 combined kills over the final two sets in the victory, pushing their overall record now to 10-1 on the season.
The hosting Scotties did keep it close in the opening set tabbing 22 points to Piedmont's 25, but in the final two sets the Lady Lions assumed control winning 25-11 in the second and 25-16 in the final set. In the closing points of the match, Piedmont continued its defensive effort as veteran

Katelyn Dobbs combined for a key block at the net that sparked three straight points for PC to seal the win.
Two Lady Lions led the way with seven kills apiece as
Taylor Cramsey and
Kaitlin Norman each accomplished the feat with Norman hitting .300, third highest on the team for the match. Leading the way in that department was senior
Danielle Maffett who tallied three kills in four attempts while veteran
Jennifer Opper stayed hot hitting .316 with six kills in 19 attempts and again no errors.
Fannon, who had six kills on 20 attempts for the night, also contributed on the defensive end with 13 digs to her credit. The team's leader in that category was
Katie Faith who had 16 against the Scotties. Senior
Katheryn Knarr posted a team-high 13 assists on the evening as the only Lady Lion to measure double figures in that line.
With the win, Piedmont moves to 10-1 overall and sits two consecutive wins shy of reaching its best 13-game start under Head Coach
Sid Feldman. The Lady Lions will shoot for that mark with a tri-match of action in the Cave on Saturday, September 21st with Huntingdon and LaGrange both coming to town. Piedmont plays Huntingdon at noon to open the day before facing the Panthers of LaGrange at 4:00 pm.
