Box Score DEMOREST, Georgia -- The Piedmont College women's soccer team downed former conference foe Huntingdon College 4-0 this evening in the team's 2012 home-opener at PC's Walker Field. PC outshot Huntingdon 23-2 on the evening en route to the Lady Lions' third consecutive victory to start the year.
TAYLOR HOCKLEY got the offensive barrage started with an impressive unassisted goal less than three minutes into the game.
LAURA GOODWIN extened the Lady Lions' lead to 2-0 at intermission with a dynamic goal from outside the 18-foot line in the game's 26th minute.
PC kept the pressure on after half with a pair of back-to-back goals by
DILYN MACLEAN and
LAURA GOODWIN in the 66th and 68th minute respectively. Goodwin assisted on MacLean's goal while
CYDNEY GOODWIN provided the helper on the last goal.
Freshman Micheala Gardner recorded a save on the lone shot on goal by Huntingdon and earned a GK victory in her first career start.
"This was a good home opener for our team here under the lights and in front of the home crowd. We scored four good goals and getting an early goal helped us. We will rest tomorrow and prepare for a tough Emory & Henry team on Sunday," stated head coach

Piedmont moves to 3-0 on the season and will return to action on Sunday, September 9 with a non-conference match against EHC beginning at 1:00 PM.
