Box Score CARY, North Carolina -- The Piedmont College women's soccer team picked up its first USA South Athletic Conference victory of the season today as they blanked host William Peace University 7-0. The Lady Lions netted three first-half goals and never looked back en route to the commanding victory.
DILYN MACLEAN got the scoring started in the game's 13th minute on an assist from
JESSICA REYES. A pair of goals six minutes apart later in the half would send PC into the locker room at half with a 3-0 lead.
TAYLOR HOCKLEY used a helper from
KELSEY SCHAFFERNOTH in the 38th minute just before
ELIZABETH GALE assisted a goal by
WHITNEY LAMBERT just one minute before half.
In the second half, PC taked on four more goals with all coming in the game's final 13 minutes. Emily Corsin assisted Reyes in the 77th minute before
CYDNEY GOODWIN, Megan Heim and Lambert each scored a goal late for the final margin.
Piedmont (6-2, 1-1 USA South) will stay overnight in Raleigh for another USA South match tomorrow afternoon against Meredith College.
