Box Score FERRUM, Virginia -- The Piedmont College women's soccer team dominated the offensive end of the field but could not come up with the equalizing goal as the Lady Lions fell 2-1 at Ferrum College in the program's first-ever USA South Athletic Conference match. FC held a 2-0 lead at half and held off a late barrage of goals to secure the Panthers third victory of the season.
Early goals by Casey Johnson and Megan Funck (assisted by Johnson) came just three minutes apart in the game's 24th and 27th minute to give FC a 2-0 lead at intermission.

LAURA GOODWIN would cut the deficit in half in the 67th minute and the Lady Lions would continue to pepper the Ferrum goal put could not break through to even the score in the game's final 20:00.
Piedmont dominated the offensive end outshooting Ferrum 26-8 and holding a decisive 10-4 advantage in corner kicks.
The Lady Lions will complete the two-game road swing with a 2:00 kickoff against Warren Wilson College tomorrow afternoon in Asheville, NC.
