Huntingdon Shocks Piedmont In GSAC Finals

Moses Das and the Lions were ousted in the GSAC Finals by Huntingdon, losing 5-0, denying the men of a second straight conference title. Piedmont had gone 8-0 in GSAC this year before being upset in the finals.

Knoxville, TN - The Piedmont Lions were shocked by the Huntingdon Hawks Sunday afternoon at the University of Tennessee's home tennis courts in the finals of the Great South Athletic Conference tournament, falling 5-0. Piedmont had been previously undefeated in conference play throughout the duration of the 2012 season, going 8-0, including two 6-3 wins over Huntingdon.

The loss denies Piedmont of its ninth GSAC title since 2001, after they had won seven straight from 2001-2007 and another last season. Piedmont's 2012 season is now complete.
