Lions Heading To GSAC Finals After Semi-Finals Win Over Maryville

Joel Silverberg won in straight sets at #2 singles, 6-2, 6-4 to clinch the semi-finals match for the Lions over the host Maryville Scots. The men will play in the GSAC finals tomorrow at 1:00 pm.

Knoxville, TN - The Lions headed into the Great South Athletic Conference tournament as the number one seed after going a perfect 8-0 in conference play during the regular season. It didn't take long for the Lions to prove their supremacy, as the men trounced fourth-seeded and tournament host Maryville College on the University of Tennessee's tennis complex, walking away with a 5-1 win.

Sophomore Joel Silverberg clinched the first round win with a straight sets win at #2 singles, taking a 6-2, 6-4 decision. The Lions advance to the GSAC Finals match tomorrow at 1:00 pm against the winner of the Huntingdon/LaGrange match.
