Box Score

Demorest, GA - The Lions improved to a perfect 7-0 in Great South Athletic Conference play when they hosted Covenant College Thursday afternoon and walked out with a convincing 7-2 win.  The score and result was identical to the last time the two squads matched up, on the road a mere eight days ago.

Piedmont was led by freshman Nick Hallberg, who clinched the match at #4 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 straight sets singles win.  Sophomores Joel Silverberg, Patrick Steck, and Jay Evans all won their singles matches as well, along with freshman Trey Martin.  Evans picked up his 10th win of the year, while Steck, Silverberg and Hallberg earned their ninth wins.  Martin is now 4-0 on the season.

In doubles play, the men were led by the lethal combo of Hallberg and sophomore Cristopher Davidson, as the pair posted a win at flight two, their 13th straight win of the year.  In the process of beating the visiting Scots, the men garnered their 10th overall win of the season.  PC is 10-5 and 7-0 in the conference, and return to action on the road in a matchup with conference arch-rivals Maryville College on Sunday at noon.
