Piedmont Reels In Marlins For Fifth Win Of Season

Christopher Davidson fought hard for the Lions, winning at #4 singles and #2 doubles in Piedmont's 8-1 win over the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan College. The men are now 5-4 on the season.

Demorest, GA - The Piedmont Lions reeled off their second straight win after taking down Virginia Wesleyan College 8-1 Tuesday afternoon on the home court. The visiting Marlins got their only point in the #1 singles match. The men swept through their doubles matches and won five of six singles matches.

Winning matches for the Lions were Joel Silverberg at #2 singles, Patrick Steck, Christopher Davidson, Trey Martin and Jay Evans. All three doubles combos fought hard for wins as well, led by Moses Das and Steck. Piedmont moves to 5-4 overall on the season and will next take on Covenant College in Great South Athletic Conference play Thursday at 3:30 pm, again at home. The men are undefeated in GSAC action so far, going 3-0.
