DEMOREST, Georgia – The Piedmont College men's basketball team will kick off its 2012-2013 season tomorrow evening with a 7:00 PM tip off against Oglethorpe University in Cave Arena. The game will mark the debut of first-year head coach Mark Bollinger who ecame the school's seventh head coach since 1940 after spending the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Division III power Ohio Wesleyan University.

JESSIE JENKINS returns as the Lions' only starter from last year's squad. Jenkins averaged 13.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game and was voted as the D3Hoops.com South Region Freshman of the Year.
WILL SKAGGS, the Great South Athletic Conference's 2010-11 Freshman of the Year, returns after sitting out last season with an ankle injury.
Piedmont was voted to finish ninth out of nine teams in the annual USA South Athletic Conference preseason coaches' poll as the 2012-13 athletic season is the first for the Piedmont College athletic programs.
“Season-openers are always an exciting time of the year and will be a good chance for us to find out exactly what we have. Oglethorpe will be a good challenge for us as they return four starters from last year's team,” stated Bollinger.
Oglethorpe enters the game with a 1-0 record after defeating Johnson Bible College on Saturday afternoon.
