The game's offensive statistics were balanced with Piedmont holding a slim 10-9 advantage in shots while the visiting Vikings took five of the game's eight corner kicks. The advantage came in Piedmont's depth as head coach
Stephen Andrew played 21 players compared to just 12 Berry players seeing action.
MARJORIE HAMMOND and
MICHAELA GARDNER each played 45:00 in between the posts to secure the shutout. Hammond turned away five Viking shots while Gardner rejected the only shot on goal she saw.
Piedmont returns to USA South Athletic Conference action with a weekend road swing through North Carolina Wesleyan College on Saturday and Methodist University on Sunday.
