Seniors Highlight 4-1 USA South Win Over LaGrange

Seniors Dilyn MacLean (#12) and Macie Rooke (#4) were honored in pre-game ceremonies before the Lady Lions' 4-1 USA South win over LaGrange.
Box Score DEMOREST, Georgia -- Piedmont College women's soccer players MACIE ROOKE and DILYN MACLEAN made the most of their last time on Walker Field as the duo was heavily involved in the Lady Lions' 4-1 USA South victory over LaGrange College.  Rooke tallied a pair of first-half goals while MacLean assisted on Piedmont's final score. 

Less than three minutes into the contest Rooke got things started with a score off of an assist from KELSEY SCHAFFERNOTH.  At the 10:20 mark LAURA GOODWIN punched in a loose ball in front of the LC goal to make the score 2-0.

Andrea Richard would cut the PC lead in half with a direct free kick score from from 30 yards out.  Rooke would extend PC's halftime lead to 3-1when she would clean up another loose ball rebound. 

At the 56:59 mark, TAYLOR HOCKLEY would complete the scoring with a header goal off of a cross from MacLean.

Piedmont outshot LaGrange 10-5 and held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Piedmont (13-5-1, 6-4-1 USA South) will now enter the upcoming USA South Conference Tournament as the fifth seed and will travel to Raleigh,  NC on Saturday, October 27 to take on the fourth-seeded Meredith College Angels in quarterfinal action set to start at 2:30 PM.  The winner will advance to the USA South Fall Festival Championship on November 3-4 in Martinsville, VA.  Meredith scored a 3-2 victory over Piedmont back on September 23.
