Box Score

Raleigh, NC --
The Piedmont College women's soccer team has still yet to suffer a defeat in 2011 having tied Meredith College earlier this evening on the road 1-1 after two overtime periods.  The two squads battled through 110 minutes of action to the draw which was the second straight for the Avenging Angels as the young Lady Lions saw their first extra time contest of the season.

Meredith struck first on a miscue from the Lady Lions as an Avenging Angel corner kick bounced through to the waiting foot of Allie Kahler who slipped the ball through a crowd to the back post for a quick 1-0 lead.  With Meredith scoring on that try in just the third minute of play, it wouldn't take Piedmont long to even things back up when Dilyn MacLean scored her fifth goal of the season in the 19th minute of play.

With the score now tied at 1-1, the two teams would continue to create chances as both tallied 13 total shots on the match.  The evenly contested match would stay tied throughout the remainder of regulation and through two overtime periods as well with the Lady Lions picking up the program's first draw since the 2006 season.

Now 6-0-1 on the season, the Lady Lions will wrap up their trip through Carolina with an afternoon match against  Peace College on Sunday, September 18th.  Kickoff at Wake Med Soccer Park is set for 2:00 pm.
