Demorest, GA -- The Piedmont College men's tennis team fell 6-3 to Huntingdon College in Great South Athletic Conference action earlier this afternoon.  The squad picked up a doubles point as well as a pair of singles points, but could not get a win over last year's GSAC runner-up.

PC kicked off the match with a win at #1 doubles as the pair of Moses Das and Patrick Steck won 8-5 for their second doubles point of the 2011 season.  The doubles partners are now an even 2-2 on the year and 1-0 in GSAC play.

After the Hawks claimed two of the three doubles points, Piedmont's two singles wins would not be enough as Huntingdon snagged four singles match-ups to claim the 6-3 match win.

For the Lions, singles winners included Steck and Jay Evans as Steck claimed his point 7-5, 6-4 while Evans won 7-6, 6-2.  Steck moves his singles record on the year to 2-2 including a 1-0 mark in GSAC action while Evans also improves to 2-2 overall and picks up his first league win.

The loss drops Piedmont to 1-3 on the year and 0-1 in conference play.  The Lions will get back on the court on Wednesday, March 16 with a 4:00 afternoon match against the Panthers of LaGrange College. The match will take place on the campus of Piedmont at Burgen Tennis Courts.
