Greensboro, NC -- The Piedmont College women's basketball team had their four-game winning streak snapped earlier this afternoon by #13 Greensboro College who went to 21-0 with a 67-49 victory over the visiting Lady Lions.  PC was outrebounded by the nationally ranked Pride 56-36 marking the first time an opponent has outworked Head Coach Jamie Purdy's squad on the boards in their last five games.

Connecting on over 66% of her shots from the field was Keiondria Thompson who added ten points off the bench in PC's loss.  Also adding a pair of steals to the effort, Thompson hit four of her six field goal attempts to post her best shooting percentage of the season when taking six or more shots in a game.

Junior Amber Satterfield led the team in scoring with her 13 total points on four of 12 shooting from the field including a three of eight mark from three-point land.  Now averaging 10.7 ppg on the season, Satterfield reached double-figures in scoring for the first time since an 18 point effort in a win at Huntingdon College.

Adding six points for Piedmont was a trio of Lady Lions in junior Sada Wheeler, senior Laura Simmons, and freshman Jordan Gustavel.  Wheeler was held to her lowest rebounding total of the season grabbing just three boards for the second time all season.

Simmons pulled down six rebounds to add to her six total points but was held to her second lowest shooting percentage in 2010-11 hitting 25% of her shots from the field.  Gustavel also added six boards to her stat line and shot three of ten from the field to total her six points.

The loss drops Piedmont to 15-6 on the season though this afternoon's contest marks the second loss of the season to a nationally ranked opponent.  The Lady Lions will look to rebound when the squad travels to LaGrange College for a 6:00 game with the Panthers who currently sit third in the GSAC standings.
