Piedmont Men's Tennis Starts Out 2011 With Loss To Methodist

Veteran Moses Das (above) and newcomer Patrick Steck fought hard at #1 doubles dropping an 8-6 decision as PC fell to Methodist University 9-0 to start the 2011 spring season.

Demorest, GA -- The Piedmont College men's tennis team fell in their first action of the 2011 spring season dropping a 9-0 decision to USA South member Methodist University. After the team snagged a win over Emmanuel College in the fall of 2010, the Lions could not get a match-up to fall in their favor in their spring opener.  

In doubles action, Moses Das and Patrick Steck made the #1 slot a tight race falling 8-6 after battling to the doubles decision.  Das and Steck also fell in #1 and #2 singles as PC could overcome the tough lineup of the Monarchs.

The loss drops PC to 0-1 on the year as the Lions will now turn their attention to the Pride of Greensboro College as the USA-South Athletic Conference will pay Burgen Tennis Courts a visit on Sunday, February 27 for a 12:00 match.
