Columbia, SC --
The Piedmont College women's soccer team claimed its fifth victory of the season with a 5-1 road win at Columbia College earlier this evening. A trio of Lady Lions collected goals on the night to push the visiting squad past the host team as PC moved to 2-0 against Columbia over the last two seasons.

Piedmont got on the board first when a Haley Grimes service found the head of sophomore Dilyn MacLean in the 25th minute giving the Lady Lions a 1-0 edge. After allowing an equalizer only five minutes later, Piedmont quickly reclaimed the lead in the 39th minute when Katie Porter turned a pass from Hayleah Waters into the second goal of the evening.

Following the intermission, Porter tacked on another goal in the 59th minute to give the Lady Lions a comfortable 3-1 lead. Junior midfielder Justine Clay would then put the match out of reach with a pair of goals in the final 20 minutes as Piedmont claimed the match by a final of 5-1.

With the victory, the Lady Lions move to 5-3 overall. Piedmont will return to action Thursday, September 30 when the squad opens Great South Athletic Conference play with a 6:00 match against Wesleyan College at the newly renovated Walker Field.
