Gainesville, GA --
The Piedmont College women's soccer team rebounded from their first loss of the 2010 season to defeat visiting Meredith College 2-1 in a double overtime thriller.  In a tightly-contested match, PC was able to overcome a second half comeback by the Avenging Angels to come out on top for their second win of the year.

In the first half, PC gave Meredith everything they could handle before breaking through to take a 1-0 advantage on a Dilyn MacLean free-kick from the top the box.  The score would remain the same through the intermission with the squads finsihing even at four shots a piece for the half.

After the halfway break, Meredith would battle back to tally the equalizer in the 74th minute of regulation play to send the match to bonus soccer.  As the teams fought through a scoreless opening overtime period, it was on a cross from MacLean that junior midfielder Justine Clay put over the visting keeper's head to hand Meredith their first loss in 2010.

Senior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Induni turned in the stellar performance between the posts for the Lady Lions making 15 saves on 16 total shots on goal including six clutch saves in the extra two periods.  The decision moves the keeper's record to 2-1 on the young season having allowed only a pair of goals in three matches.

Meredith entered the match with a perfect 2-0 record after being picked to finish second out of 10 teams in the USA South Athletic Conference's preseason poll.

The win moves the Lady Lions to 2-1 overall in 2010.  The squad will return to action with non-conference match-up against the Peace College Pacers on Sunday, September 12 at 1:00 at Allen Creek Soccer Complex.
