Demorest, GA -- With the Piedmont College faithful blacking out Cave Arena, the men's basketball team defeated visiting non-conference Warren Wilson College this evening by the score of 106-66. The victory marks the sixth consecutive win for the Lions, a new NCAA Division III era milestone.

Jim Orr notched his second career double figure performance with 11 points and four rebounds in only nine minutes of action.
After hitting the first eight points of regulation the Lions, who never trailed, saw the visitors answer with a 9-2 run to get within a single point at the 15-minute mark. Piedmont quickly responded with an 11-2 run regain control and put the game out of control.
After the Owls cut the lead to four points with seven and a half minutes left in the first period the Lions pulled away for good earning 31 of the final 40 points of the frame. After intermission the home team shifted into cruise control and led by no fewer than 28 points down the stretch en route to the 40-point victory.
PC forced 22 turnovers that led to 34 points and held the edge off the bench 51-26. The men went 14-31 (45%) from behind the arc and 16-19 (84%) from the charity stripe.
Tonight's game was promoted as Business Appreciation night sponsored by the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce. Prior to tip off close to 40 local businesses had display tables throughout the Mize Center promoting their businesses. Also, the Habersham Central High School Band of Blue drum line performed during timeouts and halftime.
The Lions, now 14-6 overall and 8-2 at Cave Arena, will return to Great South Athletic Conference action on Saturday, February 6th as they travel to Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL starting at 5:00.
