Box Score

Demorest, GA --
The Piedmont College women's soccer team played another 1-0 thiller earlier this evening at the Walker Athletic Complex defeating Salem College in the Great South Athletic Conference semifinal.  The victory marks the 11th shutout win for the 2010 squad as the Lady Lions will move on to the conference tournament final for a second consecutive season.

Piedmont dominated the run of play in the first half tallying 17 shots compared to seven for the visitors, but the Lady Lions could not find the back of the net in the opening frame.  Ten minutes after the intermission, PC would find its golden moment as Katie Porter slipped a through ball behind the Salem defense that Macie Rooke calmly received and shot past the Spirits' keeper.

The 1-0 lead was all that senior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Induni and the Lady Lion back four would need to preserve the shutout victory.  Induni turned away eight shots on goal from the visitors as she lowered her goals against average to 0.61 for the season.

With the win, the Lady Lions improve to 13-6 overall.  The victory also ensures Piedmont a date in the GSAC tournament final against the tournament favorite Maryville College on Saturday, November 6 with kickoff slated for 4:30 at Walker Athletic Complex.
