Decatur, GA --
The Piedmont College women's soccer team put up another shutout performance earlier this afternoon taking a 1-0 decision on the road over Great South Athletic Conference member Agnes Scott College.  The Lady Lions allowed just a pair of shots on goal to the home team in the entire match to win going away with a second half score.

In their ninth contest away from home this season, the Lady Lions created plenty of first half chances but could not find the back of the net before the break.  After the intermission, Piedmont would continue to pour on the pressure against a resilient Agnes Scott squad who held out against the PC scoring offense now ranked 11th in the nation amongst NCAA Division-III schools.

The game remained scoreless until the 74th minute when a Laura Goodwin corner kick found the waiting head of junior midfielder Justine Clay who redirected the ball past the outstretched hand of the Scotties' keeper.  Clay's goal would be the final margin of victory as PC claimed the road victory 1-0.

Keeper Kaitlyn Induni turned away the two Agnes Scott shots on goal to preserve the ninth shutout of her senior season as the Lady Lions claimed only their second win of the season by a 1-0 score.

With the win, the Lady Lions move to 11-6 on the year and 5-2 in conference play.  The victory secures the 3rd seed for PC in the GSAC championship tournament as Piedmont will play host to either Spelman College or LaGrange College in a Tuesday quarterfinal.  Kickoff time has yet to be announced.
