Memphis, TN -- After a three week break from competition, the Piedmont College cross country teams ran at the Rhodes College Invitational earlier this morning to open the month of October on the course.  Both the men's and women's teams posted 10th place finishes in their third contest of 2010.

For the men's squad, former GSAC Runner of the Week AJ Meyer along with sophomore Wesley Milton led the way with both runners posting a time of 29:03.  Every remaining member of the men's team came in before 30 minutes with just one exception as the team averaged a time of 29:22.

On the women's side, freshman Molly Atkinson was the first Lady Lion to cross the line posting a time of 29:02 while Stephens County native Kristen Payne followed in at 29:16.  Youngster Dixie Mays rounded out the women's times at 35:43 as the team posted an average time of 31:15.

Both teams will now turn their attention to the 38th Annual Furman University Invitational taking place on Saturday, Ocotber 9.  The event will be the fourth of the year for both Piedmont cross country squads.
