Spartanburg, SC -- The Piedmont College cross country teams ran in their fifth event of the 2010 season earlier this morning competing in the USC Upstate Cross Country Invitational held on the campus of the South Carolina school.  The race served as the final preparation event before the Great South Athletic Conference championships to be held on October 30.

The men's team was led by the swift legs of sophomore Chez Maxwell who brought in an 8K time of 28:49 while teammate Wesley Milton followed in closely behind at 29:01.  On the women's side, freshman Molly Atkinson continued her stellar debut season posting a 5K time of 22:36 as newcomers Kristen Payne and Dixie Mays rounded out the list at 23:32 and 26:17 respectively.

Both squads will take the weekend off from competition in preparation for the GSAC championships that will be held on Saturday, October 30 in nearby Atlanta, GA.
