Lady Lions Cruise To 7-1 Victory Over Peace

Junior Katie Porter notched a pair of goals in the Lady Lions' 7-1 victory over Peace College this afternoon in Cary, NC.

The Piedmont College women's soccer team traveled to Peace College this afternoon in Cary, NC and picked up a non-conference win by the score of 7-1. The Lady Lions used goals from five different players en route to the victory over the USA-South hosts.

Piedmont improves to 7-2 overall and will return to the pitch on Tuesday, September 29th as they return to Great South Athletic Conference action against LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA starting at 5:30.

Junior Katie Porter opened the scoring at the 7th minute off a pass from Casey Lovelady. At the 25th minute Porter assisted Macie Rooke for the eventual game-winner. The Lady Lions would tack on another goal before intermission and took the 3-0 advantage into the second frame.

PC exploded with four goals in the span of eight minutes to start the second half. Peace notched its lone goal at the 74th minute but could get no closer and dropped the decision. Between the posts Kaitlyn Induni recorded three saves in 54 minutes of shutout action.

For the match the Lady Lions outshot the home team 19-8 and produced five corner kicks. Six different players tallied multiple shots on goal in the second-highest scoring output of the season.
