Meredith Hands Lady Lions 5-1 Defeat

Erin Pippin connected on the Lady Lions' lone goal this afternoon against Meredith College in Raleigh, NC.

The Piedmont College women's soccer team traveled to Meredith College this afternoon and fell by the score fo 5-1 in the non-conference affair. The Avenging Angels, the USA-South defending champions, never trailed and posted the most goals allowed by the Lady Lions this season.

The home team jumped out with a goal at the 11th minute and quickly followed with the eventual game-winner just three minutes later. PC would answer to cut the margin in half as Erin Pippin took a Katie Porter corner kick and beat the keeper with a header. MC would answer with a goal at the 40th minute to take the advantage into intermission.

In the second frame the Avenging Angels added a pair of insurance goals at the 58th and 87th minutes respectively to seal the win. The Lady Lions were outshot 10-7 for the match with eight shots against coming in the first frame.

The women, now 6-2 overall, will remain in Raleigh, NC to take on USA-South member Peace College tomorrow, September 27th with kickoff scheduled for 2:00.
