Four Second Half Goals Lead Maryville Past Lady Lions

Goaltender Kaitlyn Induni posted eight saves in the Lady Lions' 4-0 loss to Maryville College this afternoon in Maryville, TN.

Maryville, TN -- The Piedmont College women's soccer team traveled to Great South Athletic Conference member Maryville College this afternoon and fell 4-0 in the non-conference affair. With both teams knotted at nil-nil for the first 56 minutes the Scots connected on four goals en route to the win.

Despite being outshot 7-2 in the first half the Lady Lions, led by goalkeeper Kaitlyn Induni fended off the home team to enter the break nin-nil. In the second half PC could only muster five shots compared to MC's 19 including four unanswered goals.

Caitlin Hurd led the offense with a pair of shots on goal. The Lady Lions also dropped the advantage in corner kicks 6-1.

The defeat snaps the Lady Lions five-match winning streak and drops the team to 5-1 overall. The women will return to the pitch at Walker Field again on Tueday, September 22nd as they host in-state rival Oglethorpe Universtiy beginning at 7:00.
