Athens, GA -- In the third meet of the season the Piedmont College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the University of Georgia Bulldog Stampede this morning under extremely wet conditions. The Harriers had to run through a steady rain on a course that had already absorbed over eight inches of water.
On the men's side the Lions finished sixth out of the six-team field. Junior
Michael Fidero paced the squad with an 8K time of 29:11.
Aaron Saylor and
Wesley Milton followed in 31:56 and 32:47 respectively.
Matt Collins and James Maxwell followed within two minutes while
Montez Jones rounded out the field with a 36:02.
The Lady Lions were led by
Erin McCallister who posted a 5K time of 26:24.
Michelle Sosia and
Anna McClatchy crossed the tape in 28:04 and 29:10 respectively.
The men will travel to the 24th Annual Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN next Saturday, September 26th while the women will compete on the same day in the Pre-Conference Invitational in LaGrange, GA.
