Demorest, GA -- For the first time in nearly a calendar year the Piedmont College men's soccer team fell at Walker Field, this afternoon to visiting Millsaps College by the score of 3-2. The loss snaps the eight-match winning streak dating back to September 20th of last season.
The Lions, now 2-1 overall, will return to the pitch again on Tuesday, September 15th as they play host to local rival Toccoa Falls College under the lights beginning at 7:00.
The Majors took the opening kick and scored in the first 18 seconds to take control. The visitors tacked on another at the 19:00 minute mark to build a comfortable 2-0 advantage.
The lead would be short lived as the Lions'
Jorge Pradilla struck with a pair of goals at the 25:00 and 30:00 mark. The first came off a pass from Sydney Smith while the latter came on a free-kick from
Chris Leone.
The score would remain deadlocked until the 78:00 minute when the Majors found the back of the net for the eventual game-winner.
