Edmondson Highlights GSAC Softball Awards

Newcomer Kellie Edmondson was named the 2009 GSAC Freshman of the Year after carrying a .342 average with two homeruns in her first season with the Lady Lions.
LaGrange, GA -- The Great South Athletic Conference announced its 2009 year-end awards this afternoon in LaGrange, GA. The Piedmont College softball team placed a pair on the All-Conference and All-Freshman Team respectively as well as the Freshman of the Year and a conference-high eight players on the All-Academic Team.  

Newcomer Kellie Edmondson was named the Great South Freshman of the Year after posting a .342 average with team highs in RBI's (19), total bases (38) and homeruns (2). Joining Edmondson on the All-Freshman Team was Michelle Wagner who posted a .324 average with 15 runs scored.

Raley White and Michelle Crandall were named to the All-Conference Team as an infielder and a catcher respectively as well as the All-Academic Team. Joining the tandem on the All-Academic Team was Lindsay Drevlow, Michelle Broderick, Nikki Eastman, Leah Della Torre, Megan Thompson and Jessica Barrett.
