Lady Lions Roars Past Salem 81-68

Lisa Jennings led all scorers with 18 points and four tri-fectas in the Lady Lions' 81-68 victory over conference host Salem College this afternoon in Winston-Salem, NC.

The Piedmont College women's basketball team picked up its second victory of this afternoon at Great South Athletic Conference host Salem College by the score of 81-68. The Lady Lions put four players in double figures and forced 27 turnovers in the win.

PC now stands at 2-4 overall and 2-0 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The women will return to competition again on Saturday, December 12th as they travel to Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA for a non-conference affair starting at 4:00.

The teams went back and forth for the first 15 minutes when the Spirits held the advantage 19-17. The Lady Lions exploded with a 19-8 run to finish the frame and take a nine-point advantage into the locker room.

In the second frame the home team rallied to cut the deficit to five but the Lady Lions would not be denied and answered with a 16-2 run over the course of five minutes to regain command. Piedmont hit 44% from the floor in the second half to seal the victory.

Lisa Jennings led the way with 18 points and four tri-fectas, both game highs. Jordan Gustavel added 17 points while Amber Satterfield and Lauren Anderson added 15 and 13 points respectively.
