Demorest, GA --
On a brisk evening at Walker Field with the senior class being recognized the Piedmont College women's soccer team defeated visiting Great South Athletic Conference member Agnes Scott College by the score of 2-1 in double overtime. The Lady Lions have now clinched the #2 seed in the upcoming GSAC Tournament while the Scotties will finish as the #3 seed.

The home standing Lady Lions got on the board first as Justine Clay hit a long-distance goal into the back of the net off a pass from Alex Bylo at the 14th minute. The lead was short lived as the Scotties found the equalizer just 12 minutes later.

The score would remain tied for the remainder or regulation sending the match into overtime. In the closing minutes of the first frame the Lady Lions appeared to win the match but the would be game-winner was waved off due to an offsides call.

After six scoreless minutes in the second and final overtime Alex Croteau found senior Casey Lovelady streaking up the right side. Lovelady took the pass and on the second touch blasted a shot off the cross bar and into the back of the net for the golden goal.

The Lady Lions now stand at 13-3 overall and 6-1 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The women have earned a first-round bye in the GSAC Tournament and will return to action on Friday, November 6th against the winner of the quarterfinal matchups in Maryville, TN.
