Induni Earns Sixth Shutout As Lady Lions Overtake Huntingdon 2-0

In the Lady Lions' 2-0 victory over Huntingdon College this afternoon in Montgomery, AL goaltender Kaitlyn Induni notched her sixth shutout of the 2009 season.

Behind an air-tight defense and a high-powered offense the Piedmont College women's soccer team remained unbeated in Great South Athletic Conference action, this afternoon defeating host Huntingdon College by the score of 2-0.

The Lady Lions now stand at 12-2 overall and 5-0 in the Great South and will resume competition again on Wednesday, October 14th as they host GSAC member Spelman College at Walker Field in a non-conference matchup beginning at 6:00.

The team outshot the home standing Lady Hawks 15-2 for the match including 9-0 in the first half. The Lady Lions earned the only four corner kicks of the contest, and used single goals in each frame to seal the win.

Katie Porter connected on the eventual game-winner, her team-best fifth of the season, off a cross from Casey Lovelady. In the second half Erin Pippin posted an insurance goal off a pass from Porter.

Between the posts Kaitlyn Induni earned her sixth shutout of the season with two saves. The women have now outscored their GSAC opponents 31-7 through eight matches.
