Stille Finds Golden Goal In Overtime To Lead Lions To Victory

Senior Jeremy Stille connected on the game-winning overtime goal in the Lions' 2-1 victory over Huntingdon College this afternoon in Montgomery, AL.

In its third overtime match of the season the Piedmont College men's soccer team defeated Great South Athletic Conference host Huntingdon College this afternoon by the score of 2-1. The Lions knotted the score with only nine minutes remaining in regulation and found the golden goal two minutes into the second overtime frame.

The victory improves the Lions to 2-0-1 in the Great South and 1-1-1 in their three overtime matches this year. PC, who now stands at an even 5-5-1 overall, will return to the pitch on Tuesday, October 13th as they host in-state rival Oglethorpe University at Walker Field beginning at 7:00.

After a scoreless first half the Hawks took the first lead of the match at the 61st minute. Senior Jorge Pradilla found the equalizer off a pass from Jeremy Stille twenty minutes later, sending the match into overtime.

Two minutes into the second overtime frame goalkeeper Brian Gaid sent a booming punt over the defense where Stille took a touch and hammered home the golden goal, his fifth of the season.
