Montgomery, AL -- In its third overtime match of the season the Piedmont College men's soccer team defeated Great South Athletic Conference host Huntingdon College this afternoon by the score of 2-1. The Lions knotted the score with only nine minutes remaining in regulation and found the golden goal two minutes into the second overtime frame.

The victory improves the Lions to 2-0-1 in the Great South and 1-1-1 in their three overtime matches this year. PC, who now stands at an even 5-5-1 overall, will return to the pitch on Tuesday, October 13th as they host in-state rival Oglethorpe University at Walker Field beginning at 7:00.

After a scoreless first half the Hawks took the first lead of the match at the 61st minute. Senior Jorge Pradilla found the equalizer off a pass from Jeremy Stille twenty minutes later, sending the match into overtime.

Two minutes into the second overtime frame goalkeeper Brian Gaid sent a booming punt over the defense where Stille took a touch and hammered home the golden goal, his fifth of the season.
