Demorest, GA --
The Piedmont College women's soccer team improved to 3-0 in the Great South Athletic Conference with tonight's 5-0 victory over visiting Wesleyan College at Walker Field. The Lady Lions jumped out with three first half goals and tacked on a pair in the second frame en route to the win.

Junior Katie Porter posted the first and eventual game-winning goal, the team leading third of the season, just four minutes in off a pass from Macie Rooke. Senior Casey Lovelady added her fifth goal of the year at the 38th minute and Justine Clay notched an insurance goal seven minutes later.

In the second half Clay and Rooke posted goals just seconds apart in the 69th minute to cap the scoring. Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Induni notched her fourth shutout of the season as the Lady Lions' defense held the opposition to a mere one shot on goal.

For the match the squad outshot the Pioneers 23-1 and earned all eight corner kicks. Clay's six points marked a season high while Rooke's four points serve as a career high.

PC now stands at 9-2 overall and 3-0 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The Lady Lions will return to the pitch again on Saturday, October 3rd as they travel to Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC for a conference match slated to begin at 1:00.
