Women's Soccer Team Edged In Overtime By Oglethorpe 2-1

In the first overtime match of the season, the Piedmont College women's soccer team fell to NCAA Division-III South Region host Oglethorpe University today 2-1 in Atlanta, GA. The loss marks the first for the Lady Lions who were outshot 10-5.

After a scoreless first-half Oglethorpe notched the first goal of the match at the 68th minute. The Lady Lions found the equalizer at the 81st as Katie Porter scored on a rebound of her first shot after a thru ball from Chelsea Angelich. In overtime Michelle Holland made an initial save Oglethorpe was able to score on the rebound in the first minute of overtime.

The loss drops PC to 1-1 on the young season. The Lady Lions will return to action again on Friday, September 8th as they will play host to non-conference opponent Toccoa Falls College at Walker Field beginning at 5:00.
