Piedmont Concludes USA-South Road Trip With 86-73 Win At Methodist

The Piedmont College men's basketball team wrapped up a two-game swing through the USA-South Athletic Conference this afternoon with a decisive 86-73 non-conference win over host Methodist College in the March F. Riddle Center. After the hosts jumped out to a 9-8 lead less than five minutes into the game, the Lions took over from there taking their first and final lead of the game.

Piedmont led by as many as 18 points in the first half and managed to take a 43-29 lead into intermission. In the second half, the two-time defending conference champion Monarchs made a run to cut the Lion lead to three at 62-59 with 8:01 remaining only to see the Lions post a 12-2 run to put the game out of reach.

Piedmont's Mike Adams led all scorers with a game-high 23 points while teammates Jake Green and Jake Baldwin added 12 points apiece. The Lion defense again played well forcing Methodist into 22 turnovers.

The win moves Piedmont to 7-4 overall on the season. PC will open up its Great South Athletic Conference schedule on Wednesday with a road game at LaGrange College with tip off set for 8:00 PM.
